In this first issue of the (proposed) quarterly e-zine we aim to open up and create debate over not only exhibitions of contemporary art and artists but also the social contexts surrounding making, showing and selling art from a critical perspective. Crucially this includes reflecting on the mass of art related texts breeding on the internet: from blogs to web versions of established print publications. With minimal editorial intervention, no theme, and no reputation; HIT and MISS encourages a creative approach to writing that isn't divided into 'reviews' or 'opinion pieces' and thanks to the democracy of internet publishing has no funding and no responsibilities to advertisers. The e-zine will run alongside the reviews section of the website which is updated as content is received.
